Specialty
Phakic Intraocular Lens (ICL) Surgery
Did you know that myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia can be treated with intraocular “contact lenses”?
Who is this procedure for
Treatment
With these biocompatible lenses, the natural structure of the eye remains unchanged.
Benefits
These lenses allow correction of myopia, hyperopia, and/or astigmatism in patients who are not suitable for laser corneal surgery, giving them the opportunity to achieve better vision.
If needed, the lens can be removed to restore the eye to its original condition, making this a reversible procedure, unlike laser surgery.
A precise, safe procedure with fast recovery

Measurements
Before surgery, we perform detailed evaluations to ensure there is sufficient space behind the iris and that the lens will be properly positioned. It is also essential that your prescription is stable to achieve a lasting result.

Procedure
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. As it is an intraocular surgery, one eye is treated at a time, with a few days between procedures to ensure maximum safety.

Recovery
Topical or local anesthesia is used. Visual recovery is rapid, typically within 24 to 48 hours, with highly stable results over time.
With these biocompatible lenses, the natural structure of the eye remains unchanged.
